Many of you have heard some of the bits and pieces of my recent trip to Germany and some of the things that we have been working on since late July. Patti and I have been immersed in a business opportunity that we saw as a potential game changer, not just for the hospitality business but also for society.
Solenal GmbH, a leader in virus and bacteria solutions, has announced the formation of Solenal Americas®, a US-based company that will focus on providing innovative products and services to the North American market, including the USA, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico. Solenal produces a substance that is highly effective against all enveloped viruses which includes Sars CoV-2 (Corona Virus) MRSA, common influenza, Herpes, Hepatitis A, B & C, norovirus and many others. Solenal® is based on a substance found in the human immune system, does no harm to humans, animals or nature, as well as having no adverse effect on finishes and fabrics, and can be used by housekeeping staff without PPE.
I have accepted the position of Chairman & CEO of the Solenal Americas® organization.
For the past two years, Patti and I have been contemplating retirement or, at the very least, a lesser involvement in day-to-day MGroup™ activities. The pandemic caused a delay in that process, as we did not think it would be best to leave daily oversight in a very difficult environment. But, we believe the time is right. At the end of the year, Patti and I will step down from our positions as CFO and CEO, respectively, of MGroup™. We both will remain on the Board of MFLGH, Inc., the parent of MGroup™, and retain majority ownership of the company. We will be actively searching for replacements for the CFO and CEO position. While we have a number of qualified leaders to take the CEO position from inside the company, the CFO position will be filled outside our current team.
We both will remain actively involved in MGroup™, but the opportunity to truly make a change on a global scale is something that we feel we must do. Our commitment to MGroup™ has not changed, but our daily oversight will change. We will be very active in making sure that our new leaders will share our core values of ensuring a secure working environment, of recognizing individual contributions, respect for the individual, and providing opportunities for continued growth. I promise that these values will not change.
